Massachusetts was won by Democratic Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas with 47.54% of the popular vote over incumbent Republican President George H.W. Bush of Texas with 29.03%. Since then, every Democratic presidential candidate that followed has carried the state by double-digit margins and won all 14 counties in Massachusetts.
